Our cutting edge Whole Body approach makes lifestyle adjustments that would optimize the conditions.

The basic concept and philosophy of Bass Chiropractic is to restore normal motion and alignment of the spine and extremities, while improving the muscular strength and integrity of the ligaments and tendons which maintain the alignment.  Each muscle has a relationship to various organs and meridians of the body.

Unlike conventional medicine, which focuses on attempting to treat disease once it occurs, Bass Chiropractic emphasizes improving your health to prevent disease.  Dr. Bass and her team offer effective alignments that are gentle enough that children to be treated as well.

Automobile Accidents

Following an automobile accident, whiplash is the most common injury. After being struck by another object from the rear or the side, the neck will thrash back and forth quickly and violently. When this occurs, the muscles in the neck will become hyperextended and may be strained or torn. This kind of soft tissue injury will lead to stiffness and soreness in the neck and/or upper back. The quick snapping movements that occur during whiplash will also likely lead to structural damage. These misalignments can also create associated herniated or bulging discs. In severe case, a disc may rupture or cause nerve damage.

Chiropractic is proven to help both soft tissue and structural injuries caused by whiplash.  There are specific, low force manual adjustments that we perform at Bass Chiropractic in Los Angeles, California for those that suffer from whiplash and other injuries due to a car accident.  It’s very important to make sure that pressure is removed off the nerves and motion is restored.  Call us today to begin your healing and put this accident behind you.

We don’t need to tell you that your body is going through a lot of new changes. Physical changes create stress on your whole body, including your neck, spine, hips and legs, and may result in nausea, headaches and fatigue. Hormonal surges create drastic changes in your emotions causing stress, and anxiety.

Regular adjustments throughout your pregnancy help a woman adapt to the large number of changes she experiences by maintaining alignment of the body, and ensuring proper nerve communication for the woman and her developing child.

It is our priority to make sure the pelvis is balanced and that our moms-to-be stay comfortable throughout these changes. We want the baby to have all the room it needs to grow without constraint or restriction, so that the baby can grow with ease and eventually get into the proper birth position. When the pelvis or sacrum is off-balance it can pull on the ligaments that hold the uterus in place.

Chiropractic & Exercise

Decreasing Healing Time = Less Time off the Mat

It has been my experience of people who get adjusted on a regular basis, heal a lot quicker and get back on their feet (or mat) quicker.  The less the nerves are irritated, the better the body will heal.  The healthier your nervous system, the stronger your immune system will be.  This is important because if someone’s body is dealing with a cold or flu symptoms, the healing time will decrease which will allow them to get back on the mat faster.   A strong immune system will also allow you to be resistant to the germs that are always around us.

The only promise Chiropractic can make is that one can function at a greater capacity if subluxation is adjusted regularly.

Kinesio Taping

There are four main functions of the tape:

Correcting muscle function. Kinesiology tape supports muscles during movement, and research has shown that it can provide a bit more stamina than the muscle alone.1

Improving circulation of blood and lymph. Studies show that the tape increases the flow of both blood and lymph, which can help in the treatment of lymphedema, mastectomy recovery and swelling, to name a few.2

Correcting joint movement. The tape can be used to keep a joint, such as a knee, gliding and tracking smoothly while in use.

Relieving pain. The tape has an analgesic effect, similar to what has been described as the “mother’s hand effect.”
